How to split a PDF

  1. Upload your PDF (drag and drop or browse).
  2. Check the page count shown for your file.
  3. Enter the pages to extract (e.g. 1-3 or 5).
  4. Click extract and download your new PDF (or ZIP on Premium).

Splitting runs on your device. MyWebTools does not receive your PDF contents for this tool.

When to extract PDF pages

  • Pull one chapter or appendix from a long report.
  • Save a single signed page from a multi-page scan.
  • Share only the pages a client needs — not the full contract.
  • Prepare a shorter file for email when the original exceeds attachment limits.

Is it private?

Yes. Browser-based splitting means your PDF is not uploaded to MyWebTools servers. Processing happens in memory on your computer or phone. Close the tab when finished on a shared device. Logged-in Free accounts only sync how many splits you used today — not filenames or file data.

Split PDF FAQ

Can I split a PDF online?+

Yes. Upload a PDF, enter the pages you want (e.g. 1-3 or 5), and download a new PDF with only those pages. Splitting runs in your browser — no upload to our servers.

Are my PDF files uploaded?+

No. Extraction happens locally in your browser. Your PDF stays on your device. Only a daily usage counter is stored for logged-in Free users — not file contents or names.

Can I extract specific pages?+

Yes. Use a single page (5), a range (1-3), or on Premium multiple ranges separated by commas (2-4,7,9-10).

Can I split one PDF into multiple files?+

Premium users can enter multiple comma-separated ranges and download each extract as separate PDFs in one ZIP file. Free users extract one range per split.

What page range format should I use?+

Use 1-based page numbers. Examples: 5 (page 5 only), 1-3 (pages 1 through 3), and on Premium 2-4,7,9-10 (three separate PDFs in a ZIP).

Do password-protected PDFs work?+

Some encrypted PDFs may fail to open in the browser. Remove the password in your PDF app first, then split the unlocked file.
